So many childhood memories with family who are no longer with us. Daddy always did the turkey and Mom always went all out to make the tree and presents special. Midnight Mass was a special time of celebrating Jesus' birth.

My son Chris loved Christmas. His excitement of getting the tree, decorating it and then later sleeping under it.

My most special but bittersweet memory was in 2006. He was in Okinawa, Japan serving with the Marines. His flight was due sometime the week before Christmas. He pleaded with me not to get

the tree until he was with us. I was concerned what would be left to choose from but we waited for him. We had such fun and found one of the best trees. Little did we know that would be our last

Christmas together. I realized after that it's not the tree at all but the time spent together and the memories created.

My grandparents had a huge impact on my life as well. They loved Jesus! Also, I treasure the memories that my mom created for our family during Christmas. Wonderful meals and surprises. I passed many of the traditions to my kids. Beautiful writing, Tracey. ❤️ Thank you for sharing.
